Are you passionate about making an impact by teaching in secondary classrooms or driving systemic change through education policy? Applications are officially open for Brown University’s Master of Arts in Teaching and Master's in Urban Education Policy one-year graduate programs! Bonner students receive an application fee waiver ($100). Application deadline is January 15, 2027.
Program Overview
Brown’s teacher residency program prepares future educators to teach with purpose, deep content knowledge, and a commitment to equity in urban secondary schools. The program offers a master's degree and certification in the following secondary subjects (grades 6–12): English, math, social studies, biology, chemistry, and physics/engineering.
Develop the analytical, data, and policy skills needed to address systemic inequities and lead reform in urban school districts, government agencies, and nonprofits. Most complete the program in one year, though some choose a two-year extended study option (perfect for working professionals). Take courses on-campus at Brown and participate in a nine-month paid internship in the field.
