Background
The Bonner Foundation received a grant from The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) that provides access to AmeriCorps positions. Not only does AmeriCorps allow members to engage in a national network with over 50,000 members, but it provides additional support to students already participating in the Bonner Program. AmeriCorps members share the Bonner Program's values and interest for engagement in intensive community service to meet critical community needs in areas such as education, public safety, health, environment, etc. Upon completion of service, members are eligible to receive their AmeriCorps education award.
How does AmeriCorps fit into your overall Bonner Program?
Due to our shared values and commitment to our communities across the nation, the Bonner Program encourages the integration of AmeriCorps service into the Bonner Program Model. Please note that there may be additional expectations and guidelines for AmeriCorps members that do not hold true for students in the Bonner Program who not enrolled in AmeriCorps.
