Renewal Grant Procedures
Only organizations specifically invited
by the Bonner Foundation are eligible for renewal funding.
Please contact Elaine Wheeler (ewheeler@bonner.org) at the
Bonner Foundation if you have any questions about your eligibility
for funding.
Profile of Grantees
The Foundation's Crisis Ministry Program
funding has been focused on community-based organizations
with the following characteristics:
- Are faith-based ministries; are sponsored by a congregation
or a coalition of congregations; demonstrate a collaborative
effort with area agencies and show strong leadership in
the fight against hunger and related issues in their community;
- Demonstrate that the Foundation's funding will support
efforts that will generate new growth both in terms of financial
support and involvement on the part of the members of the
congregation, the clergy, and the community;
- Foster self-reliance through programs that build on their
clients strengths;
- Provide a nutritious and balanced diet for the hungry
in a way that promotes dignity and respect.
Use of Funds
Bonner Foundation offers grants for the purchase of food to
expand an anti-hunger initiative's ability to meet the demands
of the hungry within its community. Foundation grants will
not be made toward general operating expenses, endowments,
start up programs or capital campaigns.
Grant Size and Duration
Grants range between $2,500 and $10,000 depending on the program
and the needs of the community. Grants are awarded for a period
of one year, with the possibility of renewal for subsequent
years.
Renewal Proposal Deadline
Reneal proposals should be mailed (not faxed) by January 15th
each year to:
