Guidelines for Grant Applications
The application should have three parts,
as outlined below:
I. Cover Page
Please provide a cover page with the following
information:
College
Date of Application
Primary Contact Person E-mail
Mailing Address
Phone FaxName of the project
Partner Congregation
List names &
titles of your Micah 6 Coordinating Team
** Your Micah 6 Coordinating Team should
have at least five members, including: (1) at least one
college staff or faculty, (2) at least one Bonner Scholar
or Bonner Leader, (3) at least one congregational member
or staff person, (4) a chaplain, pastor or another leader
to facilitate spiritual reflection, and (5) other students
and advisors who will help coordinate the project.
II. Proposal Narrative
Complete an application narrative, up to
3 pages in length, by briefly describing:
A. PARTNERSHIP: Briefly describe the partnership
(proposed or already established) between students and a local
congregation. Describe the current relationship between students
and a local congregation, and describe the process by which
they will participate in planning and implementing the Micah
6 project. Who will serve as the congregation's liaison? Who
from the college will serve as project coordinator and advisor
to the Micah 6 team?
B. COMMUNITY NEEDS & ASSETS: Briefly
describe the community in which you will serve, the community
needs you seek to address, and the community assets (or strengths)
upon which you can build.
C. JUSTICE & SYSTEMIC ISSUES: What are
the underlying issues of justice and injustice that you are
likely to encounter in this program?
D. SPIRITUAL REFLECTION: How will students
engage in a process of spiritual reflection, which relates
to their experiences in service? Who will serve as facilitator
for spiritual reflection?
E. ACTION PLAN: Describe in one paragraph
the service project and/or social justice ministry you will
undertake. Provide an outline of how you will organize and
implement this project in the coming year.
III. Proposal Budget
Submit an itemized budget up to $5,000
for the Micah 6 Partnership.
Allowable expenses
may include:
- Micah 6 Community Fund: for service program
expenses which are part of the Micah 6 initiative
- administrative expenses: such as meetings,
planning events, training, and reflection groups
- books and resources: for training, spiritual
reflection, and workshops
- honoraria and/or expenses for consultants,
trainers, workshop leaders, etc. (25% budget limit)
- travel expenses for representatives
to attend Micah 6 Workshops. (25% budget limit)
