Modifications to data entry layout

Many of the data entry screens under New could use some enhancement for usability (longer fields, more elegant field labels, layout, etc.). For now, though, I recognize that these end-user enhancements should be made after we've settled on the other issues.
I think buttons should be used to make some of the pull-down menu functions more accessible (e.g., SAVE, NEW, etc.).
