Workplan : Modules :
Mix of sites
This project would eliminate the need for separate work on bonner.org in either the piece meal system of the past few years or in any future large scale system. It would also encompass the National COOL site and any sub sites. Of course the integration of the site, membership, meetings, registration, and credit card system will be a great bonus to this organization.
The system also covers the intended CBR system. At one point thought to be part of the CORPSnet application, CBR seems to be a valid stand alone idea. Most notable is the need for a localized CBR site in Trenton. While this would be the first sub site created under the CBR structure, the system both develops the national CBR structure and provides an easy way to add sub sites at will. I strongly believe this gives a great advantage to the upstart CBR system.
Finally, CORPSnet is somewhat covered by this system. Ultimately the CORPSnet project will be completed within the framework by adding a set of CORPSnet-only modules to complete the needed functionality. Considering that a subset of CORPSnet features are covered within the framework, including the basic site itself as well as the article builder, we can consider this proposal covering CORPSnet v1 and reducing the CORPSnet construction costs.
While this might seem like a ‘grand design’ of sorts, it can’t pass by that the majority of the data handled by The Bonner Foundation can have a much wider use then is currently allowed and using the internet to disseminate that information is a clear step. It might not be easy to see, but sites within the framework have potential to share information in any number of ways. This sharing only becomes possible when all sites and datasets conform to a standard. It’s this standard that the framework strives to create.
