Fall Meeting

The Fall 2007 Bonner Student Congress Meeting will be held
Friday, October 19 through Sunday October, 21 at Lynchburg
College, located in Lynchburg, VA. Lynchburg is located 115
miles west of Richmond, VA (via 360/460). It is about 182
miles from Washington, DC and 114 miles north of Greensboro,
NC. Airports that are recommended are Lynchburg Airport and
Roanoke Airport (approximately 50 miles), and Lynchburg staff
and students will arrange shuttles only to those two airports
for students.
Planning is underway at this time. We will be identifying
student representatives to present workshops, help facilitate
planning, and more. Please complete the survey for Congress

Key Themes:
- Student Voice and Leadership (key roles of Congress).
- Diversity and Biodiversity (building off of SLI 2007 at
Oberlin).
- Political Engagement (building towards SLI 2008 at Allegheny
College).
- Public Policy and Community-Based Research (possibly with
a special Friday meeting for faculty and students interested
in participating in the PolicyOptions.org project).
Programming may include:
- Community building and networking opportunities.
- Immersion experiences (like service) in the Lynchburg
area.
- Student-led workshops (volunteer to do one when doing
the survey).
- Planning and Action Teams to strategize about work for
2007-2008.
