Bonner Scholar Cluster Meetings
Every school year, Bonner Scholar campuses in each of seven
regional clusters alternate hosting a gathering of students
and staff from the other campuses in their area. It may be
held on a campus or a retreat center and can range from a
daylong to a weekend event. It may include service projects,
trainings, issue-specific programming, and more.
The Cluster Event is designed to fulfill the following five
purposes:
- Develop Student Leadership Skills
- Give Bonners a Chance to Network and Explore New Initiatives
- Teach Bonners about the Region
- Expose Bonners to the Wider Bonner Community and Create
Unity
- Provide a Place for Reflection
From the Bonner Scholars Program Guidelines:
First Year Bonner Cluster Event
First year Bonner Scholars are required to attend
a regional training event during their first year in the
program. These events should be organized each year on
a rotating basis by the seven geographically based Bonner
campus clusters.
The goal of this event is to expose Bonner Scholars
to the larger Bonner network and provide an opportunity
for leadership training, reflection, and planning their
service activities for the summer and beyond.
