Community Learning Agreements :
Adding a new Community Learning Agreement
Each Community Learning Agreement must be linked to a specific service opportunity. Therefore, if you (as a student) cannot find the one you will be serving with this semester, then you must go to the Service Opportunities > Add page to create a profile of the service opportunity.
When you first click on the Add button on the left sidebar of the CLA page, you are shown a list of all the service opportunities in BWBRS from which to select (see below).
Once you select the Service Opportunity, the rest of the CLA form shows up on the page. If you selected the wrong service opportunity, you can change it by using the "Select a different Service Opportunity" at the top of the page.
The contacts module in BWBRS is not fully functional, so you may ignore that section on the CLA form for now.
The third section allows the student to
- add or revise the CLA Title to be more descriptive (limited to 60 characters) of what they will be doing;
- add or revise the position description;
- indicate the level of responsibility they will assume at the site.
The next section asks the student to indicate the average weekly hours they will be committing to the site. The Semester period is automatically generated based on the current semester setting.
The next section asks the student to describe their service objectives at the site. Visit the Foundation's website for a workshop and worksheet on writing formal objective statements.
Finally, the last section asks the student to describe their learning objectives:
After completing this form, the student should be sure to use the Save button on the bottom right of the page.
