Hour Logs :
Entering Hours
The Hours Log page has four sections. The first section is Add Log Entry where the hours are actually logged.
For each entry, you must provide a specific date, the number of hours, and indicate the type of service using one of the pull-down menus. Once you have filled these three pieces of information, you use the Add Log Entry button is on the bottom right to submit the entry.
For each hour log entry, the member must choose one (and only one) of three types of service activities from the pull-down menus that relate to the entry being reported:
- CLA Service: this pull-down menu is for service hours specifically related to one of the student’s proposed and active Community Learning Agreements.
- Non-CLA Service: this pull-down menu is for service hours not related to one of the student’s CLAs. This pull-down menu will display all the active service opportunities that have been entered by the campus advisor(s) who administers BWBRS.
- Training & Enrichment Event: this pull-down menu is for hours related to a training and enrichment events the member has attended. The pull-down menu will display events entered by the campus advisor(s) who administers BWBRS, as well as any events entered by the individual student (see below).
If a member does not see the service opportunity on the pull-down, they should add it to BWBRS by clicking on the ADD button to the right of the pull-down menu to be taken to the appropriate section of BWBRS (CLAs, service opportunities, or training & enrichment events).
Calendar view
The next section of the Hours Log is the Calendar View.
The Calendar View serves several functions:
- It allows you to move forward and backward in time (either with the Previous/Next Month button or the pull down Month-Semester/Go button);
- It shows (in blue highlighted dates) the days when service or training hours have been recorded;
- Double-clicking on a day refreshes the screen and puts that day into the Hours Log section (above);
- It affects what information is shown in the Hours Summary (below).
Note that the current day has is in darker grey background in the calendar view.
Hours Summary
The Hours Summary section displays the number of hours served in three options:
Month
Semester
School Year
Note: the Hours Summary reflects all hours entered by the student regardless of what program or programs in which they are enrolled.
Complete Hours Log
The Complete Hours Log displays the individual hours log entries for the three months selected in the Calendar View (above).
If you click on the Title link for any entry you will be taken to the profile with that name. This is useful if you need to see details on that activity.
