Service Accomplishments :
Adding a New Service Accomplishment
Please make a separate submission for each distinct accomplishment.
There are five steps in this process:
Step 1: Selecting the General Issue Area
Clicking on the Add button on the left sidebar brings up the first set of choices in this multi-step process. On this screen (below), the student should select the general issue area (from the four choices given) that best describes the area in which they did their service.
Step 2: Selecting the General Category of Service Provided
In this example, we chose Education(above) which brings up another screen (below) that further refines the accomplishment being reported as either direct service or program support.
Step 3: Selecting the Specific Type of Service Provided
In this example, we then chose Direct Service (above) which brings up the next screen (below) that provides Corporation for National and Community Service-based specific types of education-related direct service activities.
Step 4: Describe the Service Accomplishment
With the selection in Step 3 (above), the final form is brought to this screen (below) which currently has the following fields that need to be filled in.
- CLA: refers to the Community Learning Agreement to which this accomplishment relates;
- Semester: refers to the semester the service took place
- What grade levels?: this field requests the count (how much) portion of the service accomplishment (note: it changes based on the prior selections in steps 1-3)
- Describe activity: this field requests a brief description of what activity led to the service accomplishment
- Special characteristics of clients or beneficiaries: this field requests a description of the people or place served;
- What results have you seen?: this field is where you describe what was accomplished;
- Activity Valid for AmeriCorps?: this yes/no field indicates whether this accomplishment is "ok" for AmeriCorps (i.e., whether or not it is a prohibited activity such as lobbying).
Step 5: Save the service accomplishment
