| Description
of the Bonner Senior Intern
The Senior Internship is a position available
to a member of the senior Bonner class who has demonstrated
a strong commitment to the Bonner Scholars Program and an
interest in programming.
This position should serve as the Bonner’s main service
site. It is suggested that s/he dedicate all ten hours to
the internship, which is counted as direct service. The Senior
Intern should be allowed a fair amount of autonomy, taking
responsibility for projects such as event planning or creating
publications. Experienced directors and coordinators suggest
that the position be tailored to the intern’s individual
strengths and interests.
Ultimately, the internship should give the student a chance
to manage him or herself while receiving significant guidance
from the director/coordinator.
The internship should serve as an educational experience
for the Bonner, preparing him/her for life after college,
and it should assist the director/coordinator by providing
extra programmatic support.
