2027 Bonner Summer Leadership Institute

The Bonner Foundation is excited to announce the 2027 Bonner Summer Leadership Institute!

Join Bonner students, staff, faculty, administrators, community partners, alumni, and national partners from across the Bonner Network for our largest annual gathering focused on learning, leadership, service, and civic engagement.

ABOUT THE SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

• The largest annual Bonner Network gathering, with approximately 350 attendees from 65–70 colleges and universities

• Participants include teams of students, staff and administrators, faculty, community partners, alumni, national nonprofits, and graduate school partners

• A four-day convening featuring plenaries, workshops, discussions, networking, and social activities

• An opportunity to showcase and exchange best practices across the Bonner Network and strengthen approaches to campus-wide civic engagement, community partnerships, and student leadership

• A format that includes all-group sessions, role-based tracks, workshops, and place-based immersion experiences with community partners

What to expect

The Summer Leadership Institute creates space for members of the Bonner Network to learn from one another, deepen relationships, and strengthen the work of Bonner Programs and community engagement in higher education.

Participants can expect opportunities to:

• Learn together through plenaries, workshops, discussions, and role-based sessions.

• Share practices and ideas with Bonner Programs and partners from across the Network.

• Connect with peers and colleagues across roles, campuses, communities, and generations.

• Engage with local communities through place-based learning and immersion experiences.

• Explore emerging issues shaping higher education, civic engagement, communities, and democracy.

• Strengthen leadership and program practice through reflection, collaboration, and skill-building.

Registration for the 2027 Bonner Summer Leadership Institute will open at a later date.

All ticket types are expected to include access to SLI programming, workshops, networking opportunities, social activities, and meals associated with the Institute. Additional details will be announced with registration.
