Donation in Memory of William Elliot Gheen, Jr.
William’s family asked that donations in his memory be directed to the Bonner Foundation in support of the Bonner Program, a service-based scholarship program that provides low-income students “access to education and an opportunity to serve.”
William was a first-generation college student at Georgetown University. He later did graduate work in Mexico, a PhD in Economics at the University of Maryland, studied at the Diplomatische Akademie in Vienna, and taught at the University of Maryland's Munich campus where he met his future wife Ingrid Ehrmann.
