New Partnership with Morgan State University's Graves School of Business and Management Provides Graduate School Scholarships

The Bonner Foundation continues to expand its partnerships with graduate schools to provide scholarships and other benefits for Bonner students and alumni pursuing graduate education.

The newest partnership developed in summer 2022 is with Morgan State University's Graves School of Business and Management. This is the second Bonner Foundation graduate partnership with a business school (Rollins College Crummer School of Business as the first) and the first graduate school partnership with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). The Graves School of Business and Management was part of a strategic outreach project to increase graduate school partnerships in underrepresented fields and schools, such as business and STEM.

Morgan State University's Graves School of Business and Management (GSBM) is committed to enhancing academic rigor and quality. Being the first Business School in the State of Maryland, GSBM has over 70 years of experience and expertise in preparing students for the business world. As a student of the Graves School, you will acquire the advanced set of business skills based on a strong liberal arts foundation which enables you to be adaptable to different settings, domestic and global.

At the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management students can seek graduate studies in the following areas:

Master of Business Administration Program: The AACSB accredited, Graves Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program, established in 1969, is a two-year program consisting of nine (9) core courses and three (3) electives (36 credits total), which would determine your concentration: accounting, finance, human resources management, and marketing, OR specialization: project management, supply chain management, or entrepreneurship etc.

Master of Science in Project Management: Master of Science in Project Management degree program (MSPM) is an interdisciplinary, 30-credit graduate program that provides a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of project management theory and practice. The objective of this program is to provide students with the technical and soft skills to excel in challenging work environments.  It is one of a very select group of programs with both AACSB and GAC (Project Management Institute) certifications.

Master of Science in Hospitality Management: The Morgan Master of Science in Hospitality Management (MS HOSP) is a two-year course of study designed for individuals who seek career and business leadership opportunities in the hospitality industry.

The Master of Science program in Accounting: The Master of Science program in Accounting (MSA) is designed for accounting, business and nonbusiness undergraduates seeking to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and make a career in the accounting profession. While the program focuses on the public accounting field, graduates will be prepared to seek employment in investment banks (e.g., mergers and acquisitions) and in corporate financial management positions. The program offers the specific courses required by the state of Maryland to sit for the CPA examination.

The curricula are rigorous, relevant, and forward-looking. The highly qualified and productive faculty, over 90 percent with the Ph.D. degree in their discipline, combines years of experience in the business world with their research in their teaching and community engagement.

The mission of Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management is to:

  • Offer high quality undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and executive education programs that prepare a diverse student population to succeed as business professionals and to become engaged citizens in their neighborhoods and global economy

  • Conduct scholarly research that advances theory and practice in business disciplines, contributes to teaching and learning, enhances the performance of organizations, and inform public policy decision making
