Summer Opportunities: National Civil Rights Museum

The National Civil Rights Museum is seeking interns for the summer. There are two different programs: The NCRM internship program and the Smithsonian Institution’s Leadership for Change program. See below for descriptions and requirements for each program:

NCRM Internship Program

We have positions in Marketing/Social Media, Development  & Marketing Technology and  Analytics, Education, and Collections and Registration available for students in the greater Memphis area. We do not have housing available, students must have transportation to the museum in downtown Memphis.

Internship applications will close February 29, 2024.Selection is not guaranteed. Internships begin on May 20, 2024 and end on August 9, 2024.Students need a faculty recommendation.Undergraduate students are paid $12/hour, graduate students are paid $15/hourInternships are 20-40 hours per weekAll applicants should be rising college sophomores or beyond.Most of the work is completed M-F during regular business hours, though there will be some evening and weekend events.

Students must apply directly with the Smithsonian

Please pay special attention to the application requirements for this project as they are external to NCRM. Only one student will be selected for this program.We do not have housing available, students must have transportation to the museum in downtown Memphis.This internship will focus specifically on content design and review for new exhibits that will be installed in the museum’s renovation and expansion that is currently underway.Students must have transportation to the museum in downtown Memphis.Internship applications will close February 26, 2024.Selection is not guaranteed.Internships begin on June 10, 2024 and end on August 2, 2024.Internships are 32 hours per week (maximum 256 hours); students will receive an educational stipend for their work.All applicants should be rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniorsMost of the work is completed M-F during regular business hours, though there will be some evening and weekend events.Please review the links and attachments to this email for clarity on this opportunity.
