Introducing New National Partnership: Common Ground USA

Student journalists hold the power to shape how stories are told on campus and beyond. Yet their perspectives are too often buried under an avalanche of polarization, co-opted by national media outlets, or silenced by fear or censorship. Common Ground USA, a proud Bonner Network National Partner, has launched Common Ground Journalism to support students reporting in contentious times.

The Fall 2025 Common Ground Journalism cohort is a paid fellowship for 15-25 student journalists from around the country. CGJ covers lessons to center student stories, on-campus complexity, and the innate human dignity of all. Guest speakers include veteran journalists from conflict zones around the world and American journalists at the forefront of reporting for depolarization. CGJ students will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to a student journalism conference in Washington, DC in November 2025 and the opportunity to publish their work in the Fulcrum www.thefulcrum.us and/or the Latino News Network www.latinonewsnetwork.com .
