The Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler Hiring: VP and Office Assistant

The Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler (CF/UWVF) is hiring for two full-time, in-person positions in Daytona Beach, FL: Vice President of Development and Office Assistant. All CF/UWVF professionals are expected to model and champion the organization's core competencies: mission-focused, relationship-oriented, collaborative, results-driven, and brand stewardship.

Vice President of Development

Position Overview: The Vice President of Development serves as a key strategic leader, guiding the Development Team in designing, implementing, and supporting all fundraising initiatives for the Community Foundation and United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties . This position provides vision, direction, and oversight for all development activities — including annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and community engagement — to achieve organizational, departmental, and individual goals. The VP of Development ensures alignment with the organization’s strategic plan, fosters a culture of philanthropy, and equips the team to prioritize efforts that maximize impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or seven to ten years of relevant experience.

  • Proven ability to set strategy, articulate vision, and translate big-picture goals into actionable plans.

  • Demonstrated emotional maturity and sound judgment in decision-making and communication.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward results.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including prioritization of competing demands.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to establish relationships with corporations, businesses, and donors.

  • High degree of professional integrity to handle confidential information ethically.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database systems.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured motor vehicle.

Benefits: Starting Annual Salary $80,000 Platinum Health Insurance through Florida Health Care Plans (88% paid by CF/UWVF) 403b Defined Contribution Plan


Office Assistant

Position Overview: The Office Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties. This position provides administrative and clerical support to staff and leadership while helping ensure efficient office operations in support of the organization’s mission. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about contributing to a mission-driven environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred

  • Previous administrative or office support experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Commitment to the mission and values of a nonprofit organization
