Spelman Bonner Alum to Serve in U.S. Department of Education

Kabrillen Jones, Spelman College Class of 2015, is one of the latest Spelman alumnae to join the President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris administration.

In February, Jones was named special assistant in the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services at the U.S. Department of Education.

Most recently she served as a consultant for UPD Consulting, a Baltimore-based, minority-owned public sector management consulting firm that helps public school districts, state education agencies and local government agencies transform into organizations that manage performance for better outcomes. In addition, she also served as a business analyst for the education technology firm Crocus.

Prior to these roles, Jones served as a policy analyst for the D.C. Office of the State Superintendent of Education, where she worked on a variety of K-12 issues with a primary focus on regulation and guidance on special education.
