The Bonner Foundation is excited to host an in-person 2023 Fall Bonner Congress from Friday, October 27th to Sunday, October 29th in partnership with The YMCA Blue Assembly Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Bonner Congress is a student focus gathering of approximately 150 Bonner students and invited representatives from national partner organizations, alumni, and others across the Bonner Network.
Each Bonner Program engages one to two Bonner Congress Representatives to attend and represent their programs and campuses during the year. Bonner Congress Representatives are part of the Bonner Leadership Team and take on special projects that support the quality of their programs and campus-wide engagement. These students engage in leadership training, discussion, networking, and planning on key initiatives. Bonner Congress Meeting sessions often focus on improving students’ knowledge and skills, equipping them to mobilize their peers and to develop innovative ideas for enhancing their program’s and campus’s social impact.
In fact, this year’s conference will focus strongly on student leadership development, showcasing new resources from the Bonner Foundation including a Student Leader Handbook and a Bonner Program Handbook template, both designed by student leaders.
The 2023 Fall Bonner Congress will be filled with exciting and invigorating sessions, including inspiring all-group sessions, skill and knowledge-based elective workshops, 2 student leadership tracks, a networking fair with national nonprofit organizations and graduate schools offering scholarships and special benefits for Bonner students and alumni, networking opportunities over meals and breaks, and social and community building activities.
