Organizational Relationship: Civic Engagement Faculty Director and a dotted line report to the Assistant Provost for Research, Development, and Civic Engagement

The successful candidate will report to and collaborate closely with the Civic Engagement Faculty Director and a dotted line report to the Assistant Provost for Research, Development, and Civic Engagement to provide leadership and carry out the comprehensive vision for civic engagement at Wagner College. Specific responsibilities are visioning, planning, and implementing curricular and academic elements, including the coordination of the Bonner Program and other civic engagement programs for students.

Campus Compact Vista

Member Duties :

The VISTA project will support building out the existing Bonner Leaders Program which supports low-income students in pursuing paid engagement work at community organizations. The VISTA will work with the Bonner Coordinator to recruit eligible students to the Program through developing marketing and recruitment materials. The VISTA will also develop outreach materials to advise local community organizations of the possibility of having Bonners Leaders be part of their organization. The VISTA will work on strengthening existing relationships with community partners. The VISTA will develop tools that assess placements regarding fit for Bonner Leaders, organizations, and Wagner College. Finally, the VISTA will support the development of an on-campus food pantry that will serve low-income students. This will involve the development of a needs assessment, a plan for staffing, and sourcing the pantry while creating a beneficiary tracking system.
