The application deadline for the Brown Education Department's two Master's programs is fast approaching on January 15, 2026. As a National Graduate school partner, Brown University’s MAT & UEP offers Bonners and application Fee Waiver ($100) and if accepted a Partial or full-tuition need-based scholarship.
Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT): Become a certified, justice-driven secondary teacher in just one year. Designed in partnership with local educators, the program integrates rigorous coursework, hands-on teaching experience, and personalized coaching. Students work in a small, collaborative cohort and receive comprehensive preparation to become culturally responsive teachers.
Master's in Urban Education Policy (UEP): Develop analytical skills for policy and systemic change in one or two years. Through rigorous coursework, hands-on internships, and an independent research project, students develop the skills to analyze policy, redesign systems, and advance educational equity. Graduates are equipped for careers in education policy, research, and advocacy, or for advanced study in related fields.
