NJCEH Seeks AmeriCorps Program Manager to Lead Innovative Shelter Initiative

The New Jersey Coalition to End Homelessness (NJCEH) is seeking a dedicated AmeriCorps Program Manager to lead an innovative program that will transform shelter culture across New Jersey, offering an opportunity for passionate professionals to create meaningful change in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

About the Opportunity

This position is more than just a job—it's an opportunity to be at the forefront of a groundbreaking initiative that will impact homeless shelters statewide and serve as a model for the nation. The AmeriCorps Program Manager will oversee a program placing 12 AmeriCorps members at sheltering service providers throughout New Jersey, enhancing services and expanding offerings to help clients achieve housing stability.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As the AmeriCorps Program Manager, they will design and execute program curricula to help shelter clients become "housing-ready," drawing from best practices across the state and nation. They will cultivate relationships with 9-12 host sites, ensuring that AmeriCorps members have the support and guidance they need to succeed.

Monthly member gatherings will provide opportunities to build community, offer leadership development, and create meaningful connections among participants. The role also includes managing grant reporting, ensuring compliance with AmeriCorps requirements, and tracking performance measures to demonstrate the program's effectiveness.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings strong project and team management skills, along with experience in grant reporting and management. They should be an excellent communicator who can build meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders—from AmeriCorps members to shelter staff to program funders.

NJCEH is looking for someone who is eager to deepen their knowledge of homelessness services and best practices, and who is excited about joining a team that's making a national difference. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Canva, and other relevant software is essential.
