Getting Ready for the 2020 Virtual SLI

Here, you’ll find the full agenda for Bonner 2020 Summer Leadership Institute, including links to register in advance. Use the sidebar pages at left to navigate the agenda. You’ll find detailed descriptions of workshops, networking clusters, and community engaged learning showcases on those pages. You’ll also find briefer pages with the agenda at a glance.
Each session, whether it is an all-group plenary or an elective webinar workshop, has a different Zoom Meeting and ID. Each of these meetings is registered to one of the Bonner Foundation’s accounts. The links are highlighted here in blue green text. For instance, here’s the one to join for Stories of Impact, the all-group session on Thursday at 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
Thursday, June 4 Schedule: you’ll see the whole day’s events at a glance with links. Register for Bonner Bonding if you want to join a casual meet up with other Bonners.
Friday, June 5 Schedule: you’ll see the whole day’s events at a glance with links. Register for Yoga and Meditation, if you want to start the day with relaxing movement.

Stories of Impact and Telling Your Story: you’ll find the full lineup for Thursday’s 4:30-6:30 pm inspiring session featuring a partner, student, president, and alumni speaker.
2020 Celebration: you’ll find the full lineup for Friday’s 4:30-6:30 pm celebration of the 30th Anniversary beginning and the Class of 2020. Featuring four student speakers!
Partner and Alumni Networking Fair Clusters: Find more information about participating individuals and organizations. Find two clusters to join, one at 2 pm and one at 3 pm, to meet and network with great people and organizations.
Community Engaged Capstone, Reflection, and Learning Showcase: Find a thematic session to hear from students and/or faculty about their work.
When you find something you want to attend, click on the link to start the registration in Zoom. You should see the title and a short description of the session. Enter your first and last name, email, and submit.
You’ll then receive an email with all of the links, including the Zoom URL, ID, and phone numbers (in case you don’t have Internet access). Save this information in your own Calendar. Make sure to keep the links and meeting IDs for when the session is starting. When it’s time to join, use the link or enter the meeting ID into your Zoom Account application. Make sure to try out your Zoom Account in advance, setting up your own preferences.

Join the Bonner Learning Community
While we have put the agenda and much of the information about Bonner Summer Leadership Institute here on www.bonner.org,, you will want to join the Bonner Learning Community. There, you will be able to download and access materials from presenters, find video recordings of sessions you miss, and more. To join, paste the following URL into your address bar: https://bonner.mn.co.
Once on the site’s page, click on “Request Access.” Do this now, because once you’re in, you’ll find more help and screen shots.
Fill in the information needed (Name, E-Mail, Institution Name, Your Role in your Bonner Program) and press “Submit.”
You will receive an email from a staff member notifying you of your access.
Choose "Click Here to Join" option. This will take you to Bonner Learning Community homepage.
Click on the User Icon at the top-right to see the drop-down menu. Click on "Your Settings" and then select "Account." This will allow you to set a password for your account.
Once the password is set, your account is ready to go. Add details to your profile and start connecting!
It’s best to start with this step, because in the Bonner Learning Community, you can find more detailed instructions for Zoom and Bonner Connect, including with screen shots and images. You’ll find these, once you’ve joined, under Navigating Bonner SLI. After that, visit the rest of the Bonner Summer Leadership Institute Webinar area to find materials (like power-points, syllabi, and more) for the sessions you want to attend.

Most of you probably already have Zoom and have been using it for meetings or classes. If you don’t, you need to create an account.
Go to https://zoom.us/freesignup and enter your email to get started.
